“Do not weep”

Now it happened, the day after, that He went into a city called Nain; and many of His disciples went with Him, and a large crowd.  And when He came near the gate of the city, behold, a dead man was being carried out, the only son of his mother; and she was a widow. And a large crowd from the city was with her.  When the Lord saw her, He had compassion on her and said to her, “Do not weep.” Luke 7:11-13

A woman shared  her story at a bible study that I attend, with tears. She said, she was in great agony when she was trying to conceive but was unable. During those times, she spent many days in tears waiting for a child from God.  But God gave them a child in His time. She said, “many days that I cried, it seemed like I was crying to the walls, but little did I know that God was seeing my tears. And at the right time, He gave us this child”. Her testimony moved  me.

Many times, when we cry, it seems like we are crying to the walls, like how this woman shared. Is God angry with me? Have mercy on me God, we cry. But dear friends, I want to encourage you: Jesus, the Son of the Most High God, is watching you and tells you today: “Do not weep”, because your miracle is on your way.

Then He came and touched the open coffin, and those who carried him stood still. And He said, “Young man, I say to you, arise.”  So he who was dead sat up and began to speak. And He presented him to his mother. Luke 7:14-15

Be encouraged today. All things are possible with God. The God who had compassion on this widow 2000 years ago, is the same God who is walking amidst us, to grant us a miracle. Cry out to Jesus. And may His compassion give us our miracle in our lives and draw us more closer to Him.

“What is impossible with men is possible with God.” Luke 18:27.
