Harsha Bhogle used to be one of my favorite cricket commentators. As a teen I used to like his sense of humor, later when I was doing my masters in business admin at Bangalore, I came across an info that he was an IIM passout. All the more reasons to listen to his commentary. 😀 As I was watching one of his speeches to the management students, he was talking about the master blaster and his attitude towards the game of cricket. He said, Sachin put himself under strenuous training in the game of cricket so much so that, as a kid, he used to go to the nets for practice, play a match, get back home tired for lunch, and sleep on the dining table!!!! Wake up again, and go for the next round of practice. Doesn’t that explain his game? And when the Indian team picked him up on their shoulders to celebrate his contribution to the game of cricket, Sachin said, “This (the world cup) is what I have been dreaming for, all my life, and I’m glad to have got it.”
For the last three months, the Lord has been convicting me to do a specific thing, which definitely calls for me to move out of my comfort zone. And so, though I heard it, and knew that the Lord wanted me to straighten up that area in my life, I was sooooo unwilling to heed the voice of God, coz truly that calls for me to get out of my comfort zone. Yesterday, when I was reading God’s word, He spoke to me again. And I finally submitted to the Lord. But truly, frankly, I’d be comfortable where I am. And I was thinking, Christian life……. calls so much for a sacrifice and constantly pushes you out of your comfort zone. ‘Love those who hate you’, ‘submit to your husband’, ‘Don’t have pride, envy, jealousy’, ‘repay evil with good’….. and the list is endless. Is this all worth it? Coz Jesus constantly pushes me out of my comfort zone!!!!
I was off to choir practice yesterday. This Sunday we are having the Easter musical presentation at church. As we were practicing the songs that we were going to render, this thought came into my heart….. “It is all worth it. It is all worth it. When my life on earth is over, and angels come from heaven to carry my soul to the one whom I have loved and lived for, all my life….. it will all be worth it……It is all worth it.”
“I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us.” Romans 8:18
“Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training. They do it to get a crown that will not last; but we do it to get a crown that will last forever.” 1 corinthians 9:25
Harsha Bhogle with Sachin Tendulkar on his latest book release, ‘Out of the box’. 🙂
Have a fantabulous Easter and a blessed month ahead!!!
