Voices that bring Anxiety

Last week, the Word that was delivered at church was something that I could totally relate to. Actually, I am certain that it is something that each of us have experienced to some degree. Let me briefly try to share what my pastor shared.

My pastor’s aunt had a choking incident when she was a new born baby, because of which she had a severe brain injury and an underdeveloped brain. This affected him so much so that when he had his own children, when they were babies, he was anxious every moment of the day. He kept having thoughts in his mind as to how an accident could happen.

It was much later in his life that he learned to speak the truth of God’s word when such fearful thoughts tormented him. Today, he teaches his church how to boldly declare scriptures over our children and how to resist the devil.

“Resist the devil and he will flee.”

As parents I’m sure most of our fearful thoughts are usually about our children. What do we do when such voices drown us into the pits of despair? Speak… speak out loud the Word of God.

“ All my children shall be taught by the Lord, and great shall be the peace of my children.”

“Jesus grew in stature and in wisdom and in favor with God and man.”

“ No eye has seen nor has ear heard nor has it entered the heart of man the great things that God has prepared for those who love him.”

“ No good thing will he withhold, from those whose walk is blameless before him.”

Speak it. Don’t allow the enemy to speak lies to you. Remember he is the “father of lies.”

When you begin to declare Gods word, the peace of God will descend into your heart.

Let me tell you a funny story. Recently I had to meet someone, whom I had not met before. For a whole week I was tormented in my mind that I was not going to have favor when I meet her and that our meeting was going to be TERRIBLE !! And believe me, I had not even met her before!!! But I totally believed the lie, not even knowing that it was a lie!!!

One afternoon I was lying down in the couch and these dreadful thoughts were circling around my head like black birds!!! Just then, it was like a switch turned on!!! “ I started to turn the pressures to Praise. I started whispering under my breath, “ Thank you Lord, for the favor I will find in her eyes.” “ Thank you Lord, for you have blessed our meeting.” And just like that, like a chain that broke loose, peace settled upon my heart and Joy was restored. And that week when I met her, boy, was our first meeting great??!!!!

We must learn to stand up to the devil. We are on battle ground and we can’t let him have us!! Be assured, You are precious to the Lord and loved beyond measure! He has won the victory for us!!

Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.
Phil 4:6

O daughter of Zion, Praise thy Lord … Always!! For He is WORTHY!!

Blessed day!
