God’s Ravens

The life of Elijah is such a power packed one! He was a man who walked in such a powerful anointing and a close walk with God. Just as Enoch was taken away to glory without seeing ‘death’, so was Elijah! He was one of the men of the Bible who didn’t see ‘death’, as we know it! I jaw-drop in awe, at such people, who have such an intimate walk with God!!

In 1 Kings 17, Elijah declares to King Ahab that they will not see dew nor rain except at His word. And it was so. But the Word of the Lord came to Elijah, to depart from that region and go to a place called Brook Cherith and there, the Ravens would provide for him. Also he was to drink from the Brook to quench his thirst.

There are seasons in our lives, when we are desperate for God to provide direction for us. In the life of a believer, God’s most important provision, is His direction for every step of our lives. And God is always, ALWAYS faithful to provide us that direction, when we are truly seeking Him for direction!

A couple of years ago, I remember I woke up one Sunday morning and out of the blue, I just had a feeling that we should go to Grace church. Grace church is not our home church. We go to a small little traditional church. But that morning, I really felt we should go there. So I asked Jeev, if we can go to Grace. He agreed and we went. The Sermon that day was ‘Gods Raven’ for us, for that season of our lives that we were going through! I remember sitting gripped in awe listening to every word! It was such an important Word that both Jeev and I, had to listen to!

Sometimes, we really under-estimate the power of the Holy Spirit in each of us! The Holy Spirit’s still small voice speaks to us, just as the Word of the Lord spoke to Elijah 4000 years ago! But many times, we brush it aside, thinking we are imagining things! Isn’t it awesome that you and I have the same invitation to be friends with God, just as the mighty prophets of Old, had!

What a friend we have in Jesus! That sums it all up!!

Good day, everyone!!
