I have a friend who has a two year old son. She is a thinker!!! A thinker to the point that she thinks about the girl whom her son would marry and what kind of a mother-in-law she would be to her Daughter-in-law!!!! Ha ha…. Sylvia, sorry I had to expose you in public!!! 🙂 I have had such faaaaar sighted thoughts, too!!! 😀
We all have such thoughts running in our heads once in a while right??? I don’t know how it is for men….. but for most women, such weird thoughts do run in our heads!!!! 😀
When thoughts overwhelm me to the point that I can’t take it anymore, I talk to myself!!! I simply say these few words. “Var, just ONE day at a time, relax, enjoy this day… and take, ONE day at a time!!!!” I love this old hymn:
One day at a time sweet Jesus, thats all I’m asking from you
Give me the strength to do everyday what I have to do
Yesterdays gone sweet Jesus and tomorrow may never be mine
SO for my sake teach me to take one day at a time.
I love the allegory that the Bible uses between Jesus and His disciples. Jesus says that HE, is our shepherd and we are the sheep of His pasture. The Sheep is a very unique pick… that God decided to liken us to the Sheep. The Sheep simply CANNOT do anything on its own. It can’t find a safe place to eat its food…. it can’t clean itself up, it NEEDS the Shepherd for EVERYTHING!!! And if the Shepherd takes his eyes off for a moment, it blindly goes its own way and gets itself into dangers….!!!! One silly animal, I must say!!! And God likens you and me, to a Sheep!!!
Well, the Lord is trying to drive a point here. “The safety and the well-being of the Sheep is not in the capacity of the Sheep, but in the MIGHTINESS of the Shepherd.” Our tomorrows are NOT in our hands…. but in the hands of our gentle, yet All Powerful Shepherd!!!
“Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life,…….See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these.” Matthew 6:25,28
Fret not about your tomorrows, We are in safe hands!!! 🙂
