Defying Science

Jesus told his disciples to get into the boat and go to the other side while he prayed and dismissed the crowds. After the blessing meeting was over, Jesus went to a mountain to pray and by now the boat was already a considerable distance from the land. Jesus had to get to the disciples. What should have Jesus done??? Taken another boat and rowed the boat to his disciples right??? But my guess is there were no boats around…. and so, he decided to walk to the disciples, ‘on water’. Jesus goes walking, ‘on water’ and His disciples, who were already terrified of the raging wind and the waves, were even more terrified seeing a human form walking towards their boat. They yelled….saying.. “It’s a ghost”….. but Jesus spoke to them from the water… ““Take courage! It is I. Don’t be afraid.”

And then,“Lord, if it’s you,” Peter replied, “tell me to come to you on the water.”… and Jesus said, “Come”. And you know what happened???

Peter walked on water, too!!

‘Walking’ on water goes against all Physics, coz’ according to Physics when the density of an object is more than the density of water, the object sinks!!! But here is the truth…. despite that law holding just as good,Peter was able to defy all the natural forces of Physical law because he BELIEVED in the Powerful living Words that came out of the mouth of Jesus, which was far greater than any Physics or Chemistry!!! The Promise that came out of the mouth of God, carried Peter through the storm and caused him to do the impossible.

If you’ve got the boldness like Peter to believe….. you too can walk through the toughest situations of life with confidence. Tears can happen, fears may come, every word that people speak, may sink you down…. but there is a kind of faith within you, which will not rest until your hands clasp with the Promise of God!!!

Don’t ever let your Faith wobble. If Jesus has spoken a Word to you… that Word is more than enough to bring you safe to the shore ‘with the miracle’ that you dared to ask Jesus for!!!
