Bread and wine

It had been a long time since I took part of the Lord’s supper. (For those of you who do not know what the Lords supper is: It is the partaking of the bread and wine(grape juice) which signifies the body of Jesus and the blood of Jesus that was shed on the cross for MY sins).

To me the partaking of the Lord’s Supper in the church is very special. It is a time when I quietly look back at my life, and remember my sins…. and thank God for bearing my sins on the cross because of which my soul is set free. Words can never express that moment of quietness in the church. The Joy of the soul that is set free from its sins is inexpressible. And so I love to take part of the Lord’s supper whenever it is given in the church.

It had been quite sometime since I had taken it at church. Last Thursday I told my husband that it has been quite a while and that I wanted to take the Lord’s supper at church. It was a desire of my heart and I just happened to express it casually to my hubby. To my surprise this Sunday, we had it at church. My heart was eager to take it and with Jaden around, I was wondering if I will be able to take it coz he usually gets a little fussy at church and either me or Jeev will have to keep him outside the church. This has been the norm since Jaden was born! So when I told Jeev that I wanted to partake of the Lord’s supper, Jeev said he will keep Jaden outside in case he gets fussy. But I wanted both of us to take the Lord’s supper coz it had been quite a while since both of us had partaken of it. I was silently praying throughout the service. And to our amazement, right at the time of the Lord’s supper Jaden went off to sleep and both Jeev and I were able to take part of the Lord’s supper without any problem. I thanked the Lord and walked out with a Joyful heart.

“Delight yourself in the Lord and he will give you the desires of your heart” Psalm 37:4

It might be a small desire. You might think it is silly and simply chuck it. But what a great joy to know that our God is listening to our heart all the time! Even before we ask him for something…. HE KNOWS IT!!! When our hearts desires please the Lord, Jesus is sure to fulfill it.

Have a fabulous month ahead!!!
