Louder and louder

I read this morning about the two blind men. I was moved deeply by the two little lines… I wanted to pen it down for myself and you.

The crowd rebuked them, telling them to be silent, but they cried out all the more…” Matthew 20:31

Two voices that cried for mercy stood out above all the other voices. To the crowds, it was annoying. But the same voice that was annoying to the crowds, was pleasing to the Lord.

Jesus was moved with compassion when he heard those voices.

What could the crowds have actually told the blind men?

“ Hey! You two… ( not even by name) quiet down… for Jesus is attending to more important things…”

“ What good is your screaming going to bring…”

“ He is talking with important men in Jericho… he does NOT have the time for you… Quiet down…”

“If God has cursed you ( back then blindness was seen as Gods curse) who can bless you?”

Surrounded by all of that discouraging voices, the two blind men still shouted for mercy unto Jesus.

All I could think about these two blind men was: What courage to stand against all such voices and CONTINUE CRYING FOR MERCY…

And so… they FOUND MERCY IN GODS EYES. Their BLIND EYES COULD NOW SEE…

We all hear a million voices from morning till night… discouraging voices… sometimes through people… sometimes just thoughts from the enemy… I just wanted to encourage all of us… don’t let that stop you from crying out to JESUS… for surely not before too long, our SAVIOR will stop, have compassion and RESTORE what rightfully belongs to us.

And stopping, Jesus called them and said, “What do you want me to do for you?” They said to him, “Lord, let our eyes be opened.” And Jesus in pity touched their eyes, and immediately they recovered their sight and followed him.” Matthew 20:32-34

Blessed day!
