‘Tis the season of baking and wrapping! 😋😌

I had baked mini loaf pans of chocolate cake and fruit cake to give away to my neighbors! On Friday I picked up some pretty Christmas plates to place them on, and some bright red ribbons to wrap them up.

After I had finished wrapping them, for some reason I really felt that I should place Christmas cards on each of them with John 3:16 written on them. I’ve never done this before! But, really felt like I should.

It was Sunday evening. Sundays are usually my off days, but since my director asked me if I could pitch in to help, I agreed. The plan was that after I got off of work, I’ll get home and get the kids dressed and drive around the neighborhood to give the Christmas goodies away.

The CARDS! Just as I was heading off to work, I suddenly remembered about the cards. I had few old Christmas cards (purchased about 7-8 years ago) sitting in my closet. They were not of great quality though. I got them at dollar tree for a dollar, 7-8 years ago.

I badly wanted to go to the store and get some decent Christmas cards to place on my Christmas give-aways, but I didn’t have the time. So reluctantly I took the dollar tree cards to work and thought I’ll work on them while at work.

I was trying to think through in my head if it would be somehow possible to go to the card store after work. If I went to the store and then came home to give the Christmas goodies away, it would get too late and most of our American friends finish up dinner by 6 and are in bed by 7-7:30. It really seemed impossible for me to get to the store, without being late.

Just as I was musing to myself about the Christmas cards at work, an old Asian man, walked up to the desk where I was seated. He pulled out a little gift bag and handed it to me saying, “there are some unused Christmas cards in this bag. Do you know someone who can use them?”

My heart shook as I took it from him and thanked him.

2000 years ago God gave His only begotten Son to bear your sins and mine…..he still hasn’t stopped giving good gifts.

“Christ gave gifts to men.” Eph 4:11

When we choose to reach out to touch people with the love of God, this little incident is proof that HEAVEN backs us up!
