The FB ‘like’ generation:

A couple of months ago Binil’s friend wrote on FB, “People when I post silly stuff so many people ‘like’ it, but when I post something for a cause, no ‘likes’, com’mon people!!!” The same emotion was reflected by another friend of mine at a bible study: “When I post a family picture or any other picture, so many people ‘like’ it, but when I post a bible verse, not even a single ‘like’,” she said.

Knowingly or Unknowingly we the generation of FB, have fallen into a trap where we desperately long for the acknowledgement and appreciation of man.

A couple of weeks ago I was reading the biography of William Carey (thanks to Aarthika for providing me with the book.. šŸ™‚ ) William Carey, a British man, came to the Indian soil despite much resistence from his ‘church’ congregation and went on to translate the Bible wholly or partly into 40 different Indian languages!!! He set up the first printing press in India and was instrumental in establishing several schools and colleges all over India.

If such men had gotten depressed coz no one was approving their work, you and I may not have had a Bible in our own language till date. We owe much to such men who ‘DID IT’. Your work may be priceless to one desperate soul out there. Be it sharing a testimony, or sharing a scripture in your status update, or perhaps even starting your own blog ( I’ll be glad to help.. šŸ™‚ ) …. don’t wait for the approval of man. If your heart is stirred up to do something for Jesus, do it anyways!!!

When man fails to encourage you, trust me….. GOD in some way or the other surely will!!!

“That night the Lord appeared to Paul and said, “Be encouraged, Paul. Just as you have been a witness to me here in Jerusalem, you must preach the Good News in Rome as well.” Acts 23:11

Have a fabulous month ahead!!!
