Revelation 2 and 3

The book of Revelation is the last book in the Bible. Most of Revelation, is hard for me to understand. But there are a few things that isn’t too hard to get.

In Revelation chapters 2 and 3, Jesus is talking to the 7 churches and giving them encouragements and warnings. And some of the warnings to the churches are very strong ones.

As far as the churches were concerned, I personally believe that they would NOT have expected such strong warnings from Jesus. To them, they were doing everything perfectly, lived a good Christian life, bore all the fruits and were ready to be taken, when the Lord came. I’m sure it must have taken most of the churches by surprise, when in reality, Jesus gave them some strong rebukes instead of a “pat on the back.”

However, Jesus did appreciate the churches for: their perseverence, being faithful, doing good works and not denying His name during time of trials. And, some of the warnings to the churches were: being lukewarm in faith, forsaking the love they had at first for God, enticing the church to sin, tolerance to sin and the like. And Jesus spells out in red and white to the churches that they must be “Zealous and Repent”. Note here that Jesus is not talking to the world, but to the churches, which is You and Me.

We live in a day and age where churches no more are teaching their congregations to walk in purity and to flee from sin. None on the media either! However the Bible talks about the need to repent from Genesis to Revelation. God spoke through Noah, Moses, through the prophets, Isaiah, Jeremiah, Joel and then in the New Testament came John the Baptist preaching repentance and Paul and Peter, and in the final book of the Bible, Jesus closes with some real strong rebukes, to Repent from sin.

Repentance is crucial to walk a pure life in God’s eyes. The more conscious we become of our sins, as and when the Holy Spirit of God convicts us, we need to run to the throne of God to Repent, and be cleansed by the blood of Jesus. Jesus loves His Church, His Bride. But, just as a husband has no pleasure in an immoral wife, so does Jesus have no pleasure in a bride that loves the ‘world’ more than ‘Him’! Therefore it is imperative that the bride sits at the feet of her master, to be made clean, pure and Holy!!!

“Those whom I love I rebuke and discipline. So be earnest and repent.” Revelation 3:19

God’s love REBUKES, but it is for us to “Be Zealous and Repent”. The coming of the Lord, is closer than we think. However, He is not coming for the church, but He is coming for His Bride, who go the extra mile, to stay pure and Holy in her Master’s eyes.

Prepare and Have a Fabulous month ahead!!!
