The LORD had said to Abram, “Leave your country, your people and your father’s household and go to the land I will show you.” Genesis 12:1

I can almost imagine Abram’s emotions…. to leave his place of comfort, familiarity, cousins, brothers, aunts and uncles to a land he has never known before. Yet the Bible tells us that he showed implicit obedience. Not that he left his place of comfort without feeling sorrow, but he did it inspite of his sorrow. He had a clear perspective of the true God who was calling him out! God had a very specific purpose in calling Abram out of that place.

“……….and I will bless you; …….. and you will be a blessing.” Genesis 12:2

The reason God has called you and me out of darkness into His marvelous light is for one purpose. “To be a blessing”.  There are way too many souls perishing in darkness. Broken hearts, sicknesses that bring sorrow, loveless relationships, there is brokenness everywhere around us. God has called us to show the world His light, comfort, Joy and peace.

When Jesus stepped out of heaven, he left a place of pure holiness, pure delight, unspeakable joy, and a Glorious throne. Jesus stepped out of His comfort zone that you and I, be blessed. God had a specific purpose for Jesus. As painful as it must have been for Jesus, He willingly stepped out. And gave His life, till He accomplished God’s purpose.

This is a question that I like to ask myself. Am I ready to accomplish God’s purpose though painful it may be? There are souls perishing everywhere…. Are you ready to get on your knees to pray for the lost? There is one purpose for every believer. To make God’s Love in Jesus Christ known to all mankind. Jesus loves you and so does He, the rest of the world!!!

From one man he made every nation of men, that they should inhabit the whole earth; and he determined the times set for them and the exact places where they should live. Acts 17:26 (emphasis mine)

The Bible says that God has appointed the exact places where we should live. Wherever you are right now, you are there for a reason, for a purpose, to touch the lives of people ONLY you can touch. Be it Chennai,Bangalore,Adelaide,Nashville,Saint Louis,Madurai, Tirunelveli or England or Paris! You are there for a purpose: To proclaim God’s unconditional love to a very conditional world!!!
