Heard this little testimony in a sermon today:
A preacher man was seated next to a woman on a plane and after a little while they engaged in a conversation. He asked her where she was from and what was her profession. She said she was a nurse and was headed to Los Angeles, for a Nurses’ conference. They talked about the Medical profession a bit and then the nurse asked the man what his profession was.
He went on to say that he taught the Bible. So she went on to ask what he taught from the Bible. He said he taught about heaven and hell. Taken aback, she probed further.
This preacher man had had a vision of hell many years ago and one of the mandates God had given him, was to tell people about the reality of Hell and preach the good news about Christ and how Christ alone is the way to Heaven.
In the testimony, he went on to say that he doesn’t share his experience with everyone but only when he really felt the need. Since the woman sounded skeptical, he decided to share his own testimony of seeing Hell in a vision. He told her that Hell was a place of fire – burning fires day and night. But he went on to share the gospel as well.
99.99 percent of the people in the World believe that we can get entry into Heaven by being good. But the scriptures teach us that,
“There is no one righteous, not even one;” Romans 3:10
Thats the reason Jesus had to bear our sins on the Cross and shed his blood as a punishment for our sin. Someone took the punishment for our sins. Every thought of hate, every intention of evil, every angry thought and every evil deed – Christ bore them all on the cross. Which one of us can claim that we have not had a single bad thought in our minds?? No human can claim that. We are born in sin and it begins to show up right from our childhood!
The punishment for our sins that should rightfully be on YOU and ME, was given to Jesus. And so, whoever believes in him will not perish but have eternal life!
“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16
None of this made sense to the nurse. But she politely heard all of it and they both parted ways at the destination.
Now normally in a medical related conference, usually the backdrop ( the pictures in the background ) is medical-field related stuff, the nurse said. But this time, as bizarre as it was to her, the backdrop were fire pictures on all sides! Now which medical conference would have fire pictures for a backdrop? Think about it!
It made me think of something. When we take a step of faith to share the gospel, God AFFIRMS it with a sign to that person. That’s when Salvation happens. Then, this nurse, went on to be saved and reached back to the preacher and narrated how God affirmed his message to her through the fire backdrop!
So never be afraid to share your testimony! You never know whom you will touch!

This was the punishment for YOUR sin and MINE! Talk to Jesus today! He is a loving friend and a Savior! He IS God!
