Sermon Summary ( 05/25/25 )
Dr Jared Runck
Thought I’ll start writing sermon summaries of the sermons I hear every Sundays, time permitting!
Sermon Title- You build the altar, God will send the fire
Our pastor talked about how every brick laid to build the altar does not go unnoticed by God. Brick by brick we build the altar; one kind word, one decision to deny the flesh, one day of fasting and prayer, lending a helping hand, every small sacrifice is a brick that builds up the altar unto God. And then, when we have done what is our part, God does his part which only he can do.
There is this story of a man trying to break a rock. He has struck it 99 times and the rock is as still and solid as can be! But on the 100th blow, BAM! It breaks in two! So here’s the question posed : Was it the 100th blow that split the rock or the 99 blows that preceded it? I think we will all agree that it was the 99 blows that preceded it. So don’t give up hope! Don’t stop at 98. Keep pressing in! Keep building the altar! Continue being faithful! And DOUBTLESS God will send the fire, when the altar is ready!
“Cornelius, God has heard your prayer and remembered your gifts to the poor. Acts 10:31
“While Peter was still speaking these words, the Holy Spirit came on all who heard the message.” Acts 10:44
Cornelius built the altar, and God sent the fire!
Blessed week ahead!!
