Anytime we gathered as a family with cousins, uncles, aunts, grandpas and grandmas for any occasion, it was impossible that we did not sing this song! The paamalai-keerthanai book comes out and everyone joins together to sing this family favorite! And we who were little kids ( back then ), dutifully joined in.
It wasn’t until a few years ago when we, as a family had to walk some personal battles, that this song came alive to me. The hope that this song brought in that moment was unmistakable. The song is based on Psalm 103.
“Who forgives all your iniquities, Who heals all your diseases, Who redeems your life from destruction, Who crowns you with lovingkindness and tender mercies” Psalm 103:3,4
“He satisfies your mouth with good things, so that your youth is renewed like the eagles.” Psalm 103:5
