We had an awesome Sunday service as always.

We were seated in the last row during the service and in the row before ours, our friends family were seated. They have a little 5 year old girl too, Diya, with whom my daughter is super friends with!!

Usually, the girls share their drawings with each other or quickly chat something with one guilty eye on us (the Moms) coz they know, both me and my friend are pretty strict about them chatting, when the service is going on.

Today, my daughter’s friend Diya, was a little clingy with her parents. Not sure if she was tired or anything. Poor little girl, but she kept climbing on to the lap of her Dad and Mom every now and then. My daughter, on seeing this, kept coming to her Dad to sit on his lap. Usually, I do expect my kiddos to sit in their place without climbing on to us at church, but this morning , I said nothing.

We all need the loving, gentle, touch of our parents every now n’ then, I thought to myself, and let her sit on Jeev’s lap.

Even as adults, every one of us have a child in us, don’t we?? We hunger for a touch from our Heavenly Father, sometimes. Have you ever felt like you needed one???

About two years ago, I was in such a situation. I was so desperately broken that I could not hold back. There is a little bit of space between our bed and the wall where I’m usually on my face before the Lord, on the floor. That’s my favorite place to be, in our home. Sometimes the kids come to the bedroom searching for me and they can’t see me coz’ I’m behind the bed. My secret hiding place!!

That particular day, I was so so heavy in my heart… I just went on my knees, fell on the floor and just wept. I just desperately wanted a HUG from my God. I have never prayed such a dumb prayer in my life. No never…. It was the most dumb prayer I made that day. “Lord….. LORD…. I need a HUG….” That is all that I said in my prayer that afternoon and got up after a while to go about my business for the day.

Less than about 5 minutes later, I got a text from Sister Barb. Sis Barbara, is our church’s treasurer. She is 80 plus years old. Such a gentle, loving, loving person. Love just flows out of her. Every morning she sends all the church ladies a good morning message with a verse. But that day, she didn’t send the verse in the morning. She sent a picture message later in the afternoon. Here’s what the text read: “I just sent you a HUG. Did you feel it?”

In an instant I knew who it was “really” from!!

I was too moved to respond. Needless to say, I cried…. that God cared enough to respond to such a dumb prayer. Dumb by all means by all earthly standards… but nevertheless it had reached the heart of my Father in heaven.

Folks, we may be adults. But we have a Father in heaven who SEES us as children. HIS NAME IS JESUS!! HIS NAME IS JESUS!! You can crawl on to his lap anytime of the day. He will never turn you away!!

You are loved and adored by your Father in heaven! JESUS is HIS NAME!! Blessed week ahead!
