Last Sunday we had 3 testimonies from church members who were celebrating their birthdays/Anniversaries. 3 simple, 2-minute, broken hearted testimonies of the faithfulness of God. All 3 testimonies flowed from their hearts and I had to fight back my tears, when I heard them.
Today, we had prayer service at church. Just before we began prayer, Pastor Dumeresq shared his heart on revival. He encouraged the church to be faithful in prayer because every time a revival broke out in the past, be it, the Azusa-street revival, the Welsh revival, the Irish revival…or any other revivals, it was always….ALWAYS preceded by several YEARS of Faithful prayer by the saints. So saying, he encouraged the church that ALTHOUGH prayer may seem dry and boring at times, it’s the heartbeat of the church and THE KEY for revival. The words he spoke just flowed out of Him. They were powerful words to the church.
There have been several sermons that have been the perfect word for the perfect season of our lives -for both me and my husband. But there have also been times such as these, when a simple-talk, flowing from a godly heart, was just as impactful too.
I think as young people, that is our aspiration…to be so full of God, that when we open our mouths the Spirit of God may flow in and through our conversations to touch the other.
As I have pointed out once before in my blog, most of what is recorded in the gospels are simple one-on-one conversations that Jesus had with everyday people. Atleast 75-80% is one-on-one conversations.
What does that tell you and me?
Of all the things that Jesus taught and did, God wanted these specific instances to be recorded. And they happen to be ‘simple everyday conversations’.
What is recorded by God is not the sermon we preach, the songs we write, or not even the blog posts we write (talking to self). What is recorded by the Lord, is our everyday conversations, which is the TRUE index of ones heart.
It is way easier to write a song or preach a sermon but the real deal is when we step off the podium.
Let me be real. I have been in the midst of a conversation and have said things totally terrible… and I’ve wondered how it ever came out of this mouth of mine!!!
On the contrary look at Jesus, every single word He spoke was WITHOUT preparation. Yet, Life flowed. He was so full of God, that when He opened His mouth, Life flowed. For all of us young people, that should be our target… that life will flow from the opening of our lips.
“Listen, for I will speak of excellent things, And from the opening of my lips will come right things;” Pro 8:6.
End of the day, one among many other things that is remembered and recorded in heaven, is our conversations with one another.
“Then those who feared the LORD talked with each other, and the LORD listened and heard. A scroll of remembrance was written in his presence concerning those who feared the LORD and honored his name.” Malachi 3:16.

Honor the Lord in your heart, that He may flow out of our mouth. Blessed June ahead!
