I’d rather have Jesus!

A little change from the usual routine. πŸ™‚

A couple of years ago, I heard of this vision that a man of God had, of an assassination of a World leader in the 1900’s.

Thousands upon thousands were cheering this World leader, when the fatal shot came upon his chest. He instantly died. But the man of God was shown what happened on the other side of life, when he breathed his last.

He was immediately in the spirit realm. But he didn’t realize it. The demons impersonated themselves to be a cheering crowd just as he was accustomed to, in the earthly realm.

Slowly, the figures that he saw got darker and darker and it wasn’t long before he realized that his soul had been doomed forever.

The man of God saw all of this in a vision.

This vision is such a gripping vision for those of us who are still walking on this side of life. All of the glory that man can have on this side of life, is but for a moment in time. They vanish like Vapor and dust before the wind. The Bible describes it best:

β€œAll flesh is as grass, And all the glory of man as the flower of the grass. The grass withers, And its flower falls away, but the word of the Lord endures forever.” 1 Peter 1:24

Oh! How reverently we ought to walk before the LORD, knowing that one day, we will all stand before Him to give an account of our lives!!!

I think last year, my cousins Colet and Annette, recorded this song which made me revisit this timeless hymn. Written by Rhea F Miller in 1922, and music by George Beverly Shea, this song captures best, the vanity of pleasures of the World and the riches of knowing Christ.

I was a bit hesitant to do it again as they had already done it. But the lyrics were too good for me to pass them by.

Colet n’ Annette, I hope you don’t mind me doing it again. πŸ™‚

Sing along and Worship the One who alone is Worthy of all Praise, Glory and Honor!

I’d rather have Jesus!
