Of late there has been so much news about the actions of the ISIS against the minorities of any kind, particularly christians and in some cases even innocent muslims!!! Mass beheading of children, men and women put to the sword if they didnt share their faith, and I wonder how many more sad stories have not surfaced the waters of the media!!!As fellow christians, several have voiced their concern and urgent messages are being sent around in the christian communities to pray for them. Here’s one that a friend, Mrs Sundari Daniel, sent to a christian group that I’m a part of, for prayer:
Just a few minutes ago I received the following text message on my phone from Sean Malone who leads Crisis Relief International (CRI). We then spoke briefly on the phone and I assured him that we would share this urgent prayer need with all of our contacts.
“We lost the city of Queragosh (Qaraqosh). It fell to ISIS and they are beheading children systematically. This is the city we have been smuggling food too. ISIS has pushed back Peshmerga (Kurdish forces) and is within 10 minutes of where our CRI team is working. Thousands more fled into the city of Erbil last night. The UN evacuated it’s staff in Erbil. Our team is unmoved and will stay. Prayer cover needed!”
A pressing situation to be in!!! Christian beware, we are not far from the time that you n’ I may be in such a situation, for loving our dear Lord Jesus!!! “Deny Him, or you die”. What would you pray in such a situation for ‘yourself’ or what would you pray for ‘people’ in such situations???? Jesus gives us an insight in luke 22. Jesus says “Simon, Simon, Satan has asked to sift all of you as wheat. But I have prayed for you, Simon, that your faith may not fail. And when you have turned back, strengthen your brothers.” Luke 22:31,32
Note, Jesus did’nt pray that Simon should NOT be sifted by Satan!! Rather, he prayed that simon’s FAITH should not fail, in such situations!!!
We are indeed living in the end times where the Bible has clearly prophecied that we will be hated by all nations because of the name of our precious precious Lord Jesus…. which is what our eyes are witnessing right now!!! In such situations, of course we ought to pray for protection, but, if the Lord has allowed persecution to touch us to any degree, the best prayer would be to pray that our faith will not waver for the fear of mortal men!!!
Jesus’ love, is unconditional beyond any measure…. and our love ought to be the same!!!! Yes, even if it is our enemies…..
“See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God!” 1 John 3:1
Blessed September guys!!!
