Mr Shyam Kumar

My mom shared this testimony with me and I immediately wanted to share it with you guys:

A family friend of ours, Mr Shyam Kumar, is the CEO of a very popular news channel in Tamil Nadu called Puthiyathalaimurai ( ).  He is a very lively man, and has a way of bringing energy even into a very dull atmosphere. He is passionate about Jesus and shares the Word of God in our church in the evening services.

Recently a big shot from Mumbai, a head guy of around four TV channels, came to visit him at his office. Shyam annan apparently, has a lot of scripture verses placed on his table. This man from Mumbai steps into his office and begins to read all the scripture verses placed on his table one by one. Slowly tears started trickling down his face. And then he began to talk. He said that he and his wife were on the verge of divorce and that he was walking a very rough road in his personal life. And when he read those scriptures on the table, he felt like it spoke to him. And when annan asked what made him share this with him, he just said that the scriptures on the table just moved him to talk to him.

Without a doubt God was in that office room and  Shyam annan did not waste a moment to talk to him about Jesus, who is able to restore everything that we knowingly or unknowingly might have destroyed. Today the couple have not split up, they pray together and are on their way to knowing Jesus even more.

One thing really touched me in this testimony. Many Christians think that ‘faith’ is something ‘personal’ and as long as I have a relationship with Jesus, everything’s fine. I personally don’t think so. If you have tasted the goodness of Jesus in your life and know that Jesus is the best thing that can ever happen in a person’s life, then I don’t believe we have any right to keep our mouths shut in a lost and dying world. God is looking at you and me to show forth his light and glory. So don’t keep Jesus, a secret in your life. Let His Light shine through you and may lives be touched through you.

It may be a Co-worker sitting by you… or it may be a big shot walking to you. It maybe your classmate that is sitting alone…. or a desperate soul  scanning through facebook. If you are a carrier of God’s love and power, people see it quickly. Wherever God has placed you today, ‘BE’ the most beautiful fragrance…. the fragrance of Christ.

“In the same way, let your light shine before others,…..” Matthew 5:16

Have a fabulous month ahead!!!

One thing I have always carried in my heart is this Sunday school song …’Your walk talks and your talk talks but your walk talks louder than your talk talks’. Your post reminded me of this song, many a time I feel tempted to talk ….especially with my kids but the song reminds me to let my walk talk because that leaves a bigger and more lasting impact.

    • That’s so so true, Asha!!! Some of the people I admire in the faith are no more today. But I clearly remember their gentleness n their walk with the Lord and it sure can’t be taken away from my memory. What you say is 100 percent true.
