Poetic Expressions!!!

I love writing…. I enjoy it to the utmost. I used to write poems during my college days…. And after a long time I penned one recently. What better way to use a God given talent than to use it back for His glory??!!! Here it is….. my testimony… in Poetic expressions!!!

The Gentle Shepherd

I wandered away, in the ways that pleased me,

The Voice of the Shepherd could not keep me.

The cries of my dear ones, I would not heed,

The heart of my Shepherd, I could not see it bleed.

I was drawn one step at a time into the enemy’s zone,

And too soon the enemy had me won.

I was bleeding all over and I could not understand why,

Indeed they were thorns and in pain did I writhe…

As I lay in that thorny bush, I heard my Shepherd call out my name,

With barely any strength to respond, I hung my head in shame.

I remembered with love so tender His hands that cared for me,

For ‘my’ filthy sins, my Shepherd chose to die on that tree.

“You are mine” said He, with a gentle smile,

“Oh, what a worthless soul this is”, said I.

“Could there come anything good out of me”, I cried,

“Wait and see”, He smiled.

O young man, give yourself to the master weaver,

His plans so perfect, better than any earthly creator.

His love so gentle and grace so divine,

Will make of you a Jewel, shining and so fine!!!

We had a guest speaker at church a couple of weeks back, who told the story of an Indian woman. Her story cut the core of my heart, thinking about my fellow countrymen, in such deep deep darkness. The elders of this lady’s little village, decided to offer this woman’s baby as a sacrifice, on account of a drought in their village.  A day was set. The entire village walked to a nearby river and the mother had to hold her baby under the water as she saw her precious child suffocate to death. As I listened to the speaker narrate the story, my heart within me, yelled out in pain and continues to kill me.

The face of her baby had taunted the mother, day and night for the last 13 years. I cannot imagine the guilt and the distress that this mother would have undergone.

When she heard about Jesus Christ and accepted Him as her Lord, this is what she said: “For the first time in the last 13 years, I had a good night’s sleep”.

Even the smallest degree of sin, leaves us absolutely ruined and pushes the soul of man to utter darkness.

Is there any sin in your life that is taunting your heart day and night? Do you have fears that you just can’t seem to get away from? Come to the cross of Jesus. He bore every sin, great and small, that YOU and I may be FORGIVEN.

Come ye sinners, lost and lonely
Jesus’ blood can make you free.
For he saved the worst among you
When He saved a wretch like me

and I know, yes, i know,
Jesus’ blood can make the vilest sinner clean.
and I know, yes, i know,
Jesus’ blood can make the vilest sinner clean.
