The Sting of Pain

Our Church holds annual retreats for women and this year I was blessed to attend it. It was in the month of July and surely, we had some good girly fun. 🙂 Elizabeth, Stacey, Vicki and myself shared a room…. and the stories went beyond midnight!!! All four of us sing in the choir…. and we had a wonderful time just talking…. and talking….. and talking!!! 😀 On Saturday morning, we had a speaker who shared the Word of God and then we dispersed into groups for a time of discussion based on the message that was shared.

Our discussion group was different. We were six of us, Dr Janet Mueller (who is Jaden’s paediatrician), Moree, myself, Sarah, Lisa and Barbara. It was one of the most profound discussion groups that I have ever been to. Sarah, had lost her husband a month back, leaving her and her two boys (6 yrs and 3 yrs) alone. She shared her heart with us, that day.

Sarah is a cop by profession. She said, in the anguish of pain, she lay on the floor, and in that emotional stress, her shoulders shrugged as she twirled up on the floor and cried in the agony of her heart. As she was pouring her heart to God and questioning her situation, right then, she felt someone touch her and a warmth passed through her entire being. She said she never understood it, but after that, there was a peace, deep inside of her. She said she knew, God was in control.

And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:7

Pain is real. Absolutely REAL!!! The Bible says, “Each heart knows it’s own bitterness….” Proverbs 14:10.  We cannot possibly laugh away the pain. And when words are  unable to convey our hearts distress even to our loved ones, there is One who can understand it all, even when NO words are spoken. When you reach out to Jesus, He will reach in to you. Oh, what a wonderful saviour!!!

Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Matthew 11:28

There are times in our lives,

When we hit the rock bottom,

And the bitterness of our soul,

Can be shared with none.

Remember then, the words of Jesus,

Oh to Him, may you Run!!!

Be blessed and have a Fabulous month ahead!!!
